Environmentally friendly!

We want to tell you a little more about our work regarding climate impact, but we want to start by thanking our biggest climate hero, the cyclists. You who choose to take the bike instead of modern transportation options. The bike is the world’s most environmentally friendly vehicle and it is not dependent of computers or is so expensive that no one can afford it. It is a two-hundred-year-old invention available to everyone!

So, thank you for riding your bike, no matter what bike you use!

Although our customers are our biggest climate heroes, we obviously want to contribute what we can. Our goal as a company is to become completely climate neutral in the long term. On our journey there we will, with start in 2020, compensate all our bikes in all its stages. From production of raw materials, to components, assembly, shipping and warehousing.

Together with the company Tricorona, we have calculated the carbon footprint of our bicycles at every stage and to be on the safe side we have exaggerated the numbers where assumptions have been needed. We then offset these carbon dioxide emissions by investing in solar power plants in India that allow fossil energy sources to be phased out and remove their carbon dioxide emissions. The project is located in the Bhiware district of Rajasthan and will annually produce over 9,100 MWh of renewable energy. Here you can read more about the project.

In our first step toward climate-compensated bicycles, we will begin with compensating the production of our regular bicycles. However, we have the ambition to compensate for our electric bicycles and bicycle accessories in the near future.

In addition to climate-compensating our bikes, we also try to reduce our climate impact in other ways. 100% sea transport. We will, as far as possible, transport our bikes by sea, instead of air, train or truck. You may think that a large container ship is not an environmental friend, but if you look at the enormous amounts of goods they can transport, they are the most environmental efficient means of transporting goods, compared with e.g. trucks and aircraft.
